Our Story, on Forbes' The Pursuit

In the episode, Tim talks with Forbes about the road to Ghost City Tours: the years he spent building businesses before the first tour, the move to Savannah that introduced him to the city's ghost tours, and the decision to start a company of his own in 2012.

The feature also looks at how GCT has grown since then, including our choice to build tours on researched local history rather than shock value, the challenges that came with growth, the in-house software that runs the company today, and Tim's hopes of sharing GCT's stories through media as well as tours. Historic-property developers from Little Rock also explain why they invited Ghost City Tours to their city.

“After nearly 15 years of work, it's rewarding to see Forbes recognize the story behind GCT. We've built a company that more guests choose for ghost tours than any other, and I'm incredibly proud of the team that made that possible.”

— Tim Nealon, founder of Ghost City Tours

Built One Night at a Time Since 2012

Ghost City Tours began with a single tour in Savannah in 2012. What followed took years of work and investment: hiring and training guides, researching the history behind every stop, building the systems that keep tours running smoothly, and growing city by city.

Through all of it, the goal has stayed the same. Every guest should leave with a night that is fun, memorable, and grounded in the real history of the place they are visiting.

A Moment for the Whole Team

Forbes interviewed Tim, but Ghost City Tours is the work of many people. Our guides bring the stories to life every night. Our researchers dig through records, archives, and local accounts so those stories rest on real history. Our customer service team helps guests plan their evenings and answers questions before and after every tour. And many more people behind the scenes keep the company moving.

“My name may be in the interview, but this is a moment for our whole team. Our guides, researchers, support staff, and everyone behind the scenes have helped make GCT what it is.”

— Tim Nealon

Thank You to Our Guests

None of this happens without the guests who have chosen to spend an evening with us, whether on vacation, at a celebration, or on a night out with family and friends.

“The part that means the most to me is knowing how many people have chosen to spend a night with Ghost City Tours. Every booking is someone trusting us with part of their vacation, their celebration, or their time with family and friends. That trust is something we work to earn every day.”

— Tim Nealon

To everyone who has joined us on a tour, shared a review, or told a friend about GCT: thank you.

Looking Ahead

We are proud of how far Ghost City Tours has come since 2012, and even more excited about what comes next. If you haven't seen it yet, we invite you to watch the Forbes feature above and hear the story in Tim's own words.
