Some houses are haunted. The Congelier House was something far worse - a place where evil seemed to dwell in the very walls, driving residents to murder, madness, and despair until the house itself was finally destroyed in a mysterious explosion.

The Fricks built an empire in Pittsburgh's steel mills, but their family home holds more than memories. At Clayton, the spirits of the Gilded Age elite - including a little girl taken too soon and a father who never forgave himself - are said to walk the halls of this magnificently preserved mansion.

They say the theater is a place where the line between reality and illusion blurs. At the Pittsburgh Playhouse, that line extends beyond life and death - where ghostly performers continue their craft and a beloved seamstress still watches over the costume shop.

The Cathedral of Learning stands as a monument to human knowledge and ambition. But within its Gothic walls, students and staff have reported encounters with spirits who seem drawn to this place of learning - phantom scholars, mysterious figures in the Nationality Rooms, and unexplained phenomena that defy explanation.

For over a century, the walls of Allegheny County Jail contained the worst of humanity - murderers, thieves, and the condemned. Many died within its walls, some on the gallows, others by violence or despair. Their spirits, it seems, have never been released from custody.
