Ghost City Tours brought a group of paranormal creators to New Orleans for two nights of haunted history, good food and late-night investigating. The weekend ended with an overnight ghost hunt at the Andrew Jackson Hotel, and the cameras were rolling the whole time.

How the Weekend Came Together

The idea started with Charissa, our PR extraordinaire. She has been building relationships with creators all across the paranormal space, from seasoned investigators to storytellers and New Orleans locals, and she invited a group of them to spend a weekend with us.

Ghost City Tours covered the trip: two nights in New Orleans, time to explore the city, a dinner to remember, and an overnight ghost hunt at one of the most haunted hotels in the French Quarter.

Two Nights in the Crescent City

The group spent the weekend soaking in the spookier side of New Orleans: wandering the French Quarter, ducking into the city's occult and curiosity shops, and taking in the history on every block.

One of the highlights was dinner at the Vampire Apothecary, a fittingly dark setting for a table full of people who spend their lives chasing the unexplained.

Checking In to the Andrew Jackson Hotel

Home base for the weekend was the Andrew Jackson Hotel, one of the French Quarter's most talked-about haunted hotels.

For several of our guests, the activity started before the investigation did. One creator heard footsteps in their room overnight. Another woke to find their TV had turned itself on. Others reported scratching at a mirror in the early morning, and dresser drawers standing open after a shower.

The Overnight Ghost Hunt

Dalen Spratt, Juwan Mass and Marcus Harvey, known as the Ghost Brothers, joined the group for the investigation. The team mixed experienced investigators with first-timers, so the night started with a crash course on the equipment: what each tool does, how it works, and how to use it without feeling overwhelmed.

In the lobby, a spirit box session produced a name almost right away: Bert. The questions kept coming, and when one investigator asked how the spirit had passed away, the EVP response was simply, "I didn't." A medium in the group sensed a curious little girl on the staircase, and the dowsing rods pointed the group toward the courtyard. Twice.

The Estes Method in the Courtyard

In the courtyard, the group tried the Estes Method. One investigator wears a blindfold and noise-canceling headphones connected to a spirit box, then speaks aloud whatever words come through, without hearing the questions being asked.

The responses were hard to shake. Voices seemed to say "leave" and "we can't talk to you," and one listener heard what sounded like a woman saying, "You better not." Then Caitlin took her turn in the headphones, and a name came through the box: her own.

Did the group make contact with something in the Andrew Jackson Hotel? Watch the full investigation above and decide for yourself.

Thank You

A big thank-you to Charissa for bringing this group together, and to every creator who brought their curiosity, their cameras and their courage to New Orleans. Whether you believe in ghosts or not, there is something about this city that keeps calling people back, and this weekend was a reminder of why we love sharing it.
