The Wicked Village Tour

This tour deals with the Village's grimmest history without softening it, including the Triangle Shirtwaist fire, public executions, and a townhouse with a long record of death. The stories carry mature themes and some strong language, so we keep it to guests 16 and older. If you're bringing children, our Whispers of the Village tour covers the neighborhood's gentler side.

The Wicked Village Tour goes where the family tour doesn't. We spend real time on the 1911 Triangle factory fire that killed 146 workers, the thousands buried in the old potter's field beneath Washington Square, and the West 10th Street house tied to dozens of deaths. The history is heavier, the details are franker, and the storytelling pulls no punches.

Plan on about 90 minutes on foot. We move at a steady pace through the heart of the Village and stop at each location long enough to tell its story properly.

The tour begins at 9:00 PM nightly and usually wraps up around 10:30 PM. Come a few minutes early so you can meet your guide and settle in before we set off.

We head out in almost any weather, and a wet, quiet Village can be downright cinematic. If conditions ever become unsafe, we'll be in touch about moving your booking.
