The Last Ship Home

Yes. The Last Ship Home is our all-ages tour, full of seafaring history and friendly hauntings that thrill kids without frightening them. It's a favorite with families spending a few days at the shore.

We cover about a mile of flat, easy sidewalks through Cape May's historic district at a relaxed pace. With plenty of stops along the way, it works well for most ages and abilities.

You'll hear about the lighthouse keepers who watched the dangerous coast, the ships that sailed out and never returned, and the gentler ghosts of the Victorian town, including the young boy still said to play at Congress Hall and the unseen dog that pads through the Physick Estate.

We run The Last Ship Home in the evening through the season. Check the booking page for current dates and to reserve your spot before it sells out.

We head out rain or shine, and sea mist only adds to the mood. We'll only be in touch about rescheduling if a storm makes it genuinely unsafe to walk.

Of course. Cape May is a friendly beach town, and well-behaved leashed dogs are welcome to walk with us as long as they're comfortable in a group for about 90 minutes.

Yes. Every Ghost City Tour is a walking tour, and Cape May's gaslit streets are made for strolling. You'll take in the old hotels and seaside cottages on foot, the way they were meant to be seen, not from the window of a trolley.
