The Echoes of Alexandria Tour

Yes. This is our all-ages tour, and it leans on Old Town's colonial history and its more mysterious hauntings rather than anything graphic. Children who like a good story and adults who love history tend to enjoy it equally.

The route runs about a mile through flat, walkable Old Town, much of it along the historic blocks near King Street. We take our time and stop often, so it suits most ages and fitness levels.

In 1816 a young woman fell ill and died at Gadsby's Tavern. Before she passed, she and her husband swore everyone present to secrecy about who she was, and her identity has never been confirmed. Her grave still reads simply 'To the memory of a Female Stranger.' Her story is one of the tour's most beloved stops.
