How Ghost City is dealing with COVID-19

walking tours are very safe options for people looking for things to do

Interesting times we're living in, right?

I doubt there is anyone reading this who hasn't been impacted by the Coronavirus crisis which is currently gripping the World. Here at Ghost City Tours. we're no different.

We have been receiving a lot of questions from people regarding our tours. When will be open again? Are our tours safe? What are we doing to help protect people? In this article we aim to answer your questions and show you why walking tours are a great way to explore your favorite cities.

You'll find that our tours are a great option for anyone looking for something to do. Walking Tours are a very low risk activity when it comes to any disease - be it COVID-19, the flu, the common cold, or anything else. Our tours do not take place in an enclosed building. Our groups are small in number - with room for everyone to spread out as far as they would like.

To lower the already small risk, we've adjusted some of our tours routes to avoid areas where people might congregate. We've also eliminated an stops which take place on side walks. This means you won't have random people walking through the middle of the tour group.

Why is the Risk for Walking Tour Participants so low?

There are many aspects of walking tours which make them a great option for someone looking for a very low risk activity to do.

  • All of our Tours take place outdoors, not in enclosed areas
  • We expect our guests to abide by Social Disancing Guidelines. While you may stay in your individual groups, we expect you to maintain a 6 foot distance from other groups on your tour. If you do not abide by these guidelines you will be asked to leave the tour.
  • There is plenty of room to spread out, ensuring you're following social distance measures
  • We already did a good job of avoiding crowds. We've taken those efforts even further
  • Contact Free seems to be the rage - from Pizza joints to Car Dealerships - well, our tours have always been "contact free"

The reality is that taking a Ghost Tour with Ghost City Tours is no more of a risk to your health than walking around the block at home is. We've taken every measure possible to ensure that an already very low risk activity is even more safe.

Do we have to wear a Mask?

At thi time, all of the cities we operate Ghost Tours in are requiring any tour participants to wear a mask. This means that if you purchase tickets for our tours you will need to being a mask. This could change at any time, and will almost certainly change city by city - but at this time, everyone will be asked to mask up. Obviously, if you have any medical reason that would prevent you from wearing a mask, we will not require you to wear a mask. Also, children ages 10 and under are excempt.
