Savannah Ghost Tours FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions and their Answers

Frequently Asked Questions about our Savannah Ghost Tours

Are these Ghost Tours Walking Tours?

Here in Savannah, all of our tours are walking tours. We know you have other options, such as Hearse Ghost Tours and Trolley Ghost Tours. Not only do they get bad reviews (go look for yourself) but we feel that that only way to truly experience the hauntings in Savannah is by walking. How spooky can it be, driving past a building at 25 mph and hearing a driver over a bad speaker tell you that sometimes a ghost is seen in a window? Hint: It isn't spooky at all.

In order to actually FEEL the energy which our ghosts give off, you have to be in the actual places where the haunting takes place. Imagine walking through a haunted alley with all of the lights out, or standing on what was once a battlefield. We feel that THIS is the best way to explore the paranormally charged Historic District.

Does Ghost City offer any Groupon tickets, maybe Living Social?

Ghost City has never sold Groupon vouchers - and we never will.

We know that there are some companies in Savannah which offer their tickets for sales on Groupon. And if you're not worried about the quality of the tour you're getting - you can certainly spend some time on Groupon or Living Social and find tickets available. However, you won't see any from Ghost City.

We know that our Ghost Tours are of the highest quality, with thousands of reviews from tourists and locals who have enjoyed our tours. In addition, our tours often sell out - especially on the weekends and on Holidays. There is simply no reason why we'd sell our tours on Groupon.

Companies that sell on Groupon are taking a very substancial cut to their revenue. If their company was as good as they claim it was - they wouldn't have to sell $30 ghost tour tickets for $10 on Groupon. Even if you do not choose Ghost City - do yourself a favor and stay far away from companies who are offering their tours on Groupon.

Which Savannah Ghost Tours go into locations?

Some locations allow us to come in, most don't. This is not a unique situation to Ghost City - all Savannah Ghost Tour Companies have to abide by the same rules.

When we're touring the Historic District, many of the locations that you'll be visiting are private residences. Obviously, they wouldn't be too happy about us simply coming into their homes with our Tour Groups. Therefore we do not go into most of the locations we visit on our tours.

If you're looking for a Ghost Tour where you can gain access into the building itself, we highly recommend our Haunted Pub Crawl. Each and every stop on the Pub Crawl allows you access into the building - and sometimes even into areas that are off access for the general public.

Are your tickets refundable?

Just like any other performance, and yes our Tours are performances, we can only admit a limited number of people. This means that when you purchase your ticket we cannot give you a refund if you decide not to attend.

However, we're not a bunch of unreasonable monsters. If you have an emergency we will work with you. In addition, we also allow our guests to reschedule their tour, as long as you do it at least 24 hours in advance, and the tour you want to reschedule to has availability.

What are the best Ghost Tours in Savannah?

You have numerous choices when it comes to Ghost Tour Companies. Here at Ghost City we have been providing the highest-rated ghost tours since 2012. Our reveiws from our past guests speak for themselves. Everyone says that their tours are the best. Ghost City actually backs this up with over 1,000,000 previous guests and thousands upon thousands of 5-star reviews on websites such as TripAdvisor.

What age is considered a child for your Ghost Tours?

A Child is anyone under the age of 12. Anyone 12 or older is considered an adult. This is due to City laws. Our Child ghost tour tickets are only $9.99 for ages 6-11. Any child that is 5 years of age or younger gets a free ticket for our ghost tours.

Should I take a trolley ghost tour instead of a tour with Ghost City?

Ulimately that decision is your decision to make. What we can say is that our reviews speak for themselves. The Trolley Companies in Savannah receive much lower quality reviews than Ghost City. In addition, not many people like being squished into a trolley next to people they don't know - in hot temperatures. When you tour with Ghost City instead of a Trolley Tour you're getting a higher quality experience for less money - and presented in a much more enjoyable manner.

Do I have to purchase tickets in advance for Ghost Tours in Savannah?

Yes, you are required to purchase tickets in advance. Our Savannah Ghost Tours often sell out - and if you simply show up hoping for a few tickets there is a good chance you will be disappointed. Please purchase your tickets in advance to ensure that you are able to participate in the tour you wish to take.

Do I have to be 21 years or older to take a Haunted Pub Crawl?

Yes, we do require all participants on our Haunted Pub Crawl to be 21 years of age of older - the locations we visit will not allow you to enter without a valid ID showing that you are of legal age.

Which Savannah Ghost Tours go into the Cemetery?

None - the city of Savannah closes the gates to the cemetery at sunset - and no ghost tour companies are allowed to enter or conduct any ghost tours in any cemetery in Savannah. This is not unique to Ghost City - it applies to all Ghost Tour Companies in Savannah.
